Jack Paschal, IS + AH, 2023
Jack Paschal is an interdisciplinary artist based in Baltimore MD. Technical concentrations in sculpture and photo/audio. Double majoring in Art History and Sculpture. Interested in immersive installation and stop motion based art, obsessed with dreams, growth, memory, and nature. My ultimate goal is to blow up (design and build a crazy little city) and act like I don’t know nobody (invite all of my friends/family/everyone to live there in communist utopia).
Skill Building
A series of technical exercises build and demonstrate skills in Rhino, laser cutting, 3D printing, and CNC routing.

Project I: Orb
Laser cutting project.
Still getting used to Rhino and the machine. Laser cutting a topographical map on Lino for other class, interested in stacking layers to form curved shapes in three dimensions.

Project II: 3D Printing
Clean connection of material using rhino and 3D printing. Perhaps a little overzealous in my usage of Rhino at this point (excited to be making weird stuff in the digital realm.) Getting over the allure of over-complicating things in rhino simply because you can. Also some really good mold making experience in learning literally how not to ever make a mold.

Project III: CNC
Really cool and fun group project. Got to solidify my skillz with the cnc pretty early on in the process, so the majority of my focus was in regards to group dynamics and the process of designing/prototyping/producing a thing.
