I am an experience designer originally from Spain and Mexico.
Having worked in various practices, such as product design, immersive performance, and AR/VR has allowed me to foster a unique perspective when I work. I deeply care about having a conscious approach to design. In my time, I also work as an artist and writer exploring the intersections between nature, technology, and consciousness. portfolio

Project I: Untitled 01
I had been thinking a lot about light before this project. How it can transform space—how it looks and feels, how we engage with it, and ultimately, how we think in it—despite the given space remaining materially unchanged. In a happy accident of sorts, I unintentionally flashed my phone’s flashlight through a mason jar, resulting in a tapestry of light projecting on all corners of my room. It immediately caught my attention, and what had been a random mistake turned into one of the more meaningful aesthetic experiences I had in a long time. In this distinct form, it felt as if the light begged for discussion; to come and sit with it, and enter into a meaningful state of relationality. Inspired by this moment, I made a shrine made out of paper, ply, and a lit-up mason jar, so that I could memorialize the moment and bring it into other spaces. I think there is something so precious in feeling so much from so “little”.

Process
My work started with a lot of sketching and planning. I initially wanted to have a swivel to the shrine so that I could orient the Jar in different ways. Due to time and material constraints, I wasn’t able to construct that. Instead, I opted for a more rigid base. I first modeled the general shape in 3D, out of which I brought back to 2D to model the flat components made out of ply. I then reorganized these in 3D to make the shape of the paper that would wrap the shrine. I then unrolled the shape and sent it to the cutter.
I will definitely be coming back to this project in the future,,, I want to have this little portable shrine fully realized 🙂

Project II: Untitled 02
With this project I mainly wanted to experiment with fitment. I decided to work on making an aesthetic add on to my VR headset. I find the questions that arise from aestheticizing a VR headset really interesting.

Replace all of the text in this box with a brief description of your process.
In the gallery below, add images that document the process (digital and physical) of making the work.
Lastly, add the digital files related to this assignment.
Project III: Title
Replace the “Title” with the title of your piece or a simple description of the piece or assignment.
Replace all the text in this box with a brief overview of your piece (50-300 words)
Load your project images in the gallery below. The exact number of images is flexible, but 3-6 images is usually good for this. Be sure to have high quality documentation of your work. The images should show the work in full, without surrounding distractions. Add detail shots of the work where relevant.
