Peter Turnbull – Portfolio

Peter Turnbull, Interactive Arts, 2021/2022 (?!?!?)

Peter is a senior in the Interactive Arts program, and he aspires to make cool art pieces that meld virtual/digital with real world objects, usually incorporating electronics. Unfortunately, he also has ADHD, so oftentimes the result is just a mess of partially disassembled phones, clock radios, and microcontrollers all over his workbench.

Project I: Viking Longboat

This viking longboat, designed in Rhino and built from lasercut pieces, is meant to push my understanding of joinery, and learning to marry multiple materials together seamlessly. It is made out of 1/8″ and 1/4″ plywood, as well as chipboard, fabric, and twine.

Project II: Tamagotchi Fidget Cube (WIP)

Project 2, or, “I bit off more than I could chew”. This 3D printed faceplate is only one side of an envisioned “tamagotchi fidget cube”, with unusual components on each side, like the clock mechanism pictured here. I like this idea, and fully intend to develop it further once I get a chance to breathe.

Project III: “The Marching Band From Hell”
