Ziying Li (b. 1997, China, Guangzhou), is a Chinese artist and ceramist. She is a candidate for her Bachelors of Fine Art of Maryland Institute College of Art in 2021. In most of her works, She shows negative emotions that people suffer in daily life. She hope her works can be not only interpreted as a personal view of my inward world, but also as an outward represent of the human spirit.

Project I: Little Horror

Little Horror is a piece about horror in everyone’s childhood. The shape is inspired by merry-go-round and the pattern are some elements that people will afraid when they were young. Those ghosts laughing in nightmare and dead tree in every horror stories are really big things for children, but they look so tiny and cute now. It seems they are just cute dreams for everyone.
Project II: Growing

Growing is a work which is about some thoughts hidden. The grey and white vase is just like the characters that people show to others in order to protect themselves from being hurt by the world. However, the true selves are always stay in everyone’s heart and desire to express. It will keep growing and growing, and finally can not hide any more.
Project III: Melting

This piece is just like a monster, a great many things try to escape but still stuck in the body and then create such a twisted, melting, and struggling shape.
Collaborative Light Tower

This is a collaborative project with the whole class. 16 3D printing pieces standing on top of each other with the light sources in the center. This project, which is totally 9ft tall, is made of white plastic filament and LED lights.
